We Love sugar.
Today, I’ll introduce Hokkaido’s little bit strange custom.
Hokkaido’s people really like sugar. My family like to eat natto or fried egg with sugar and soy sauce.
Hokkaido’s the most famous vegetables are maybe potatoes. Most people eat boiled potatoes with salt and butter or mayonnaise, but Hokkaido people eat them with sugar and butter and soy sauce.
What do you eat when happy situations? Japanese eat red rice. Red beans are in red rice, but in Hokkaido, sugared beans are. It is really delicious!

Wow, that’s totally cool! That’s one place I really want to visit. I want to go to Rusutsu or Niseko for snowboarding in the diamond dust.
Anyway, thanks for that interesting information about a Hokkaido custom. I didn’t know that.
Are there any other unique customs in Hokkaido?
